Definition: Discipleship is to edify one another through conversation, example, as well as teaching ministry that is biblically centered and doctrinally correct in order that fellow believers of the body of Christ might "attain through the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

Application: Pastors are primarily given to the church to equip believers so that they performs such work of ministry/service. II Timothy 2:2 teaches that older believers bear a primary responsibility to disciple younger believers. Discipleship involves replicating, maturing, perfecting, admonishing, and exhorting, and may involve formal (Matthew 18:15-17) and informal (Galatians 6:1) confrontation and instruction.

Definition: Evangelism is the declaration of the gospel of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit so that unbelievers can respond to the message that is received through faith in Christ.

Application: BHBC seeks to fulfill the Great Commission through organized visitation, personal contacts, evangelistic services, special outreach events as well as through local and global missions. The goal of these outreach ministries is to motivate each member to be involved in witnessing and evangelistic activity, and to develop ministry opportunities that connects believers with the lost.

Definition: The education ministry enables believers to grow in the knowledge of God and His Word, teaching them to fear, honor and obey Him. The primary source of all teaching is God's Word.

Application: Education ministries include pulpit ministry, Sunday School, youth ministry, nursery, and children's church. Those involved in the educational ministry of the church are to be models of that which they teach and therefore should demonstrate faithful and godly character and be in complete agreement with the church philosophy of ministry, constitution and doctrinal statement.

We believe that true worship is to acknowledge the glory and grandeur of God and should reflect His divine attributes. Worship should be interactive in nature, God-ward in focus, with a truthful Spirit, faith oriented response and action. Worship is the soul's response to the goodness of God and the glory of the resurrected Christ.

The focus of worship should be God Himself and not human beings. True worship arises from careful and sound exposition of the Scriptures and is evidenced by obedience to God and to His Word through God-honoring music, faith-oriented hearing, Spirit-filled service, biblical prayer, and genuine adoration.

Definition: Administration involves leadership, management and supervision of the physical and spiritual operations of the church through organization, planning, and implementation of plans.

Application: All administrative and physical care ministries should reflect the excellence of the character of God by utilizing the spiritual gifts of God's people. Administrative ministries include ushering, office staff, IT/Website staff, and building/grounds personnel.
